Our Vision

The goal is to provide a safe place for social and educational programs, nurturing the personal growth of the individual, the opportunity to take advantage of natural talents, learning and caring through volunteer service, and developing economic empowerment. Also, a part of the facility will be used as a gathering place for the elderly community of North Wheeling.

We will work with Wheeling Housing Authority to help families in the community. The Day-Care would serve children 0-6 years of age. The Youth-Center would serve 3rd through 12th grade with Social & Educational Programming. Also, the under-served 65 year + section of the community would have to a safe place to gather.

The building called the Dream Center, is to include a room in the front of the building to be operated as a retail store. This will include an area for the residents, including the youth and the elderly, to make and sell arts and crafts, to encourage creativity and teach business skills including retail, marketing and public relations. Concessions including milk, bread, candy, chips and soda will also be available for sale. In the back lower level, a 50's style arcade game room is planned including a 50's style soda fountain. This area will be of adequate size to accommodate programs and meetings, such as girl scouts, boy scouts, youth choir, band, and the wonderful programming provided by the Oglebay Institute and the Benedum programs. Four offices on the 2nd floor will be used for counseling programs, including drug, pregnancy, and marriage counseling.

A Day-Care center has been proposed as a source of income for the center. There are presently an abundance of young working mothers in the neighborhood who would benefit greatly from an affordable and convenient Day-Care center. On the outside, a courtyard will include a 1/2 basketball court.

This is the Vision and with much faith and prayer, it shall come to pass.
